Her technology sector experience spans everything from application software, HCIT, cleantech and tech-enabled services to industrial technology, while her investments have included growth capital, buyouts and public to privates. What do you love most about Canada?
Its diversity and beauty, of both land and people.
What advice would you give to women who are starting their own businesses?
Believe in yourself and go for it! Surround yourself with a supportive network and be prepared for challenges. The key is to persevere.
What’s the biggest challenge in creating a Canadian brand?
Canada is not as marketing oriented as other countries, so getting the word out.
What’s the biggest joy in creating a Canadian brand?
Offering a Canadian solution to companies who may have to otherwise go to the the U.S.
What is the most Canadian thing you’ve ever done?
A family road trip from Vancouver to Banff over the Rockies.
Favourite Canadian musician / writer / actor / designer?
Robertson Davies because his Deptford Trilogy ignited in me a love of reading.
When you travel, what do you miss most about Canada?
Truthfully, our clean fresh air and water. We are so lucky.
Preferred Canadian city and why?
Toronto, because it’s home and the most harmonious cosmopolitan city in the world.

Open to every person’s dreams.
What’s the biggest misconception people have about Canadians?
That we are too nice, which can be misperceived as soft. Canadians are polite but also very strong when it matters.
