Our Top 5 Travel Picks for Fall
As we celebrate our 5th Anniversary (and say goodbye to sunny days at the cottage), we’re planning our next 5 getaways and wanted to share them with you. Wanderlust is in the air so we’re going global…
A warm mimosa-scented breeze caresses your brow as you sip Moroccan tea made from Borji mint freshly picked just moments ago…. This is La Mamounia and no, we’re not exaggerating! Go here for the gardens, the views, the elegantly appointed rooms, the exquisite food. It has it all and is one of our Founder’s firm favourites. Tip: We like the Deluxe rooms that overlook Agdal Gardens.
Shoes for The Moroccan Heat
Scotland seems even more romantic and wind-swept in the fall and Gleneagles is the perfect spot to luxuriate in this beautiful season – and by spot we mean 850 acres! Feeling active? There’s the usual roster of sports, as well as archery, falconry and off-road driving. Want to recharge? Head to the ESPA spa. Tip: While romantic, this is also a great place for kids.
Shoes for The Highlands & High Tea
This one edges into Bucket List territory. Our dream itinerary has us checking out of our sumptuous room at The Fullerton Bay Hotel, Singapore, hopping on board and taking the luxury train to Bangkok for the the ultimate old-world experience. Tip: The train was built a long time ago – beds are tiny and there are no showers but a lovely toiletry kit is provided for the short journey.
Shoes for Old-World Glamour
This one is definitely for a family vacation although, be warned, parents will be just as smitten with the giraffes as little ones. Not surprising, since the graceful giraffes that roam the property like to join guests at breakfast when they’ll gently nose in through open windows and let you feed them from your hand. Tip: Get ready to be an Instagram star – the posts here are crowd-pleasers.
Shoes for The Manor
It’s rare that a hotel and setting so grand can be warm, friendly and familiar at the same time. This is the kind of place where you can enjoy toes-in-the-sand days and glamourous, dress-for-dinner evenings. There really is something for everyone from golf to retail therapy. We love that they serve tea and cookies in the lobby every afternoon. Tip: Splurge on an ocean view room.
